This scholarship is intended for Needy and Meritorious students who are consistently performing well in their studies. It will be given to EIGHT (8) students from Class11 every year to assist them with some basic education costs. Continuation of scholarship from one year to the next will be subject to good educational performance. The students could be from any stream - Science, Arts, Commerce or any other. They must be amongst the top 10 performers among the needy students. Failing to maintain the good performance will mean discontinuation of the scholarship for the following year. If the students perform well in the Class 12 Board Examination and are admitted to a College, they will continue to receive a scholarship for three years.
Every year the school will prepare a shortlist of Eight girls for the scholarship. The names and family background of these students will then be discussed with Mrs Sudarshana Kashyap or her nominee on behalf of Dr Purnima Kashyap. If required a meeting between the students and the Memorial Fund Coordinators will take place to enable a final decision. The students joining a College for higher Education, will have a recommendation letter of Merit and Need from the Principal of the College. Every year, the Final Examination report will have to be made available and a documented good performance in the academics will be mandatory. The Memorial Fund Coordinators will have the right to follow up on the performance of the student, for which they will have permission from the students to talk to their Principal and meet them to discuss their progress during the academic year.
This scholarship is set up from the academic year 2009-2010, when the first eight students will be receiving the scholarship. Every year eight students will be added until the academic year 2014-2015. Each student, if academic performance is good, will receive the scholarship for 2 years of schooling and three years of Under graduation. Dr P.C. Memorial Scholarship will be reviewed in 2014 for any extension that may be possible at that time. This will depend, amongst other issues, on how the students receiving this scholarship have performed in their academics.
The annual awards will be given at a simple school ceremony by Mrs Sudarshana Kashyap or her nominee on behalf of Dr Purnima Kashyap. The cash scholarship will be given in the month of April, after the annual results have been declared for Class 10 and 11; after the admission confirmation into College in July/August for College first year; and at the same time for Years 2 and 3 of under graduation. |
